Anders als der [[Kommandierender Admiral|Kommandierende Admiral]] nimmt es keinen direkten Einfluss auf das RPG, in Form der Missionsbefehle oder Indienststellung neuer Schiffe, sondern es bringt das RPG in Form der Fleetplots ([[Pure Federation]], [[Perspektiven]], [[Die Folgen des Krieges]], [[Erbschaft einer Legende]]) weiter voran, welche dem Zusammenspiel des RPG's dienen sollen.<br>Der Leiter des Starfleet Information Centers (LdSIC) ist dafür verantwortlich, daß diese Fleetplots gepflegt werden. Ferner unterstehen ihm die, früher als Räte bezeichneten, Abteilungskommissionen (Technik, Medizin, Sicherheit und Wissenschaft).<br>
